All of these different departments have different eligibility criteria, and many of them provide stipend to interns.

1. internship with Reserve Bank of India
As we all know, RBI is the supreme authority when it comes to monetary policy in India, and thus it is one of the most prestigious internship program among all the internship programs.
Eligibility: for research internships, people who have completed/or enrolled in a PhD. Program based on economics, banking. Finance can apply.
RBI also takes students who can devote full time to the office. Have a masters degree in economics, finance, or statistical science. Students with B.Tech degrees can also apply.
Duration: this internship is of 6 Months
Stipend : Rs. 35,000 per Month

2. Internship with NITI Aayog
NITI Aayog, erstwhile known as The Planning Commission of India, takes interns from various fields, and offers a very prestigious internship programme
Eligibility: College students, either enroled in Under gradtuation, post graduation or PhD Programs.
Duration: 6 weeks to 3 months
How to apply: On their website between 1st to 10th of the previous month that you want to intern in.
3. Internship with Directorate General of Foreign Trade
Directorate general of Foreign Trade manages the trade policy of India. It collaborates with various government depart, trade bodies and overseas exports and import policy of the country.
Eligibility: Students in final year of law, or graduated from Economics, Finance or Management.
Stipend: Rs. 10,000 per month

There are several other government departments which offer internship scheme. One can go on their website to apply for internship. NABARD, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Ministry of Law and Justice also offer internships.
